Export and Customs Specialist

The Export & Customs Specialist is responsible for coordinating international shipments, ensuring compliance with export regulations, and managing customs documentation. This role supports daily logistics operations by maintaining accurate records, processing regulatory filings, and ensuring timely shipment movement while balancing service and cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process export documentation, filings, and customs clearance paperwork.
• Ensure shipping documentation is accurate, complete, and released to carriers, freight forwarders, and customers on time.
• Maintain records of shipment milestones, including departures, arrivals, customs clearances, and proof of delivery.
• Review commercial invoices and shipping documents for compliance and accuracy.
• Apply HTS/Schedule B classifications and ECCN codes as required.
• Monitor and resolve documentation discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Generate reports and maintain data records related to export activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support efficient international shipping operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in export compliance, customs, or international logistics.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of export regulations, including EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and Foreign Trade Regulations.
• Experience with HTS/Schedule B classifications and ECCN codes.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
