Job Summary/Key Responsibilities:

Job Summary

Handles customer enquiries and shipment documentation, following MSC guidelines.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Enter and monitor shipment information through use of MSC proprietary IT system.
  • Liaise with shippers, consignees, government agencies and overseas offices as necessary.
  • Assume documentary and customer service responsibility for all assigned shipments.
  • Maintain efficient ocean shipments documentation and correspondence.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationship with customers.
  • Efficiently routing all files and shipments
  • Provide timely and accurate response to customer inquiries regarding transportation milestones and shipment details.
  • Observe corporate guidelines when addressing customer inquiries regarding shipments.
  • Escalate unique or complex customer issues to the appropriate supervisor for resolution when necessary.
  • Generate potential solutions to customer issues.
  • Provide feedback regarding current corporate practices and metrics to order to support process efficiencies.
  • Presence required on-site 5 days per week
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

Required Skills, Experience, Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • English: advanced
  • Strong attention to details
  • Organized, efficient, and able to manage time effectively
  • Strong customer service mindset, focused, and responsive
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Great team player
  • Knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to learn new software

Preferred Skills, Experience, Education

  • Prior experience in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, call center, administrative or clerical jobs

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
  • Must be able to commute to the designated office location
  • Presence required on-site 5 days per week

Work Authorization

  • Authorization to work in the U.S

This role requires working on-site in the office for five days a week, from Monday to Friday. There is no option for fully remote or hybrid work in this role, unless required off-site duties are being performed.
