Responsible for the Company’s functional adherence to all applicable compliance-related standards such as C-TPAT, ITAR, EAR, CBP and OFAC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Determine requirements of exporting and importing defense and dual-use articles and services under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
Ensure all company procedures, work instructions, etc. comply with applicable regulations, Company USA guidance, and Company guidance.
Prepare and submit and monitor status of license applications, Technical Assistance Agreements, and requests for Commodity Jurisdiction, Classification, etc.
Coordinate with Export Compliance Coordinator, Product Classification Focal and/or Empowered Officials to ensure and oversee the accurate classification of products according to Company USA / Company policies and applicable government guidance.
Monitor all departments’ export transactions to ensure technical data, services and/or articles are exported according to U.S. regulations and company procedures.
Establish Export Compliance Coordinators for each area to assist in monitoring of the areas compliance related items.
Assist in compliance audits and investigations and implement necessary corrective actions.
Assist in and retain import and export records in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and work instructions.
Ensure import / export documentation is completed properly on a consistent basis according to applicable regulations and company procedures, work instructions, etc.
Conduct departmental training for import/export compliance with various internal/external departments.
Implement a system for conducting site audits for import/export compliance.
Export Compliance:
Maintain compliance procedures and policies to ensure compliance according to the Company USA export controls program.
Monitor export tools used throughout company to perform Denied Parties screening and product/license determination.
Monitor and apply regulatory changes to product classifications and licensing in accordance with Company guidelines
Review and evaluate export transactions involving controlled products and technologies.
Ensure products, technology and software are properly classified for export.
Participate in continuous monitoring of internal controls where necessary and ensure compliance.
Required Competencies; Education / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience or knowledge of US export control regulation (ITAR, EAR, etc.) concepts, practices, and procedures.
Intermediate to Advanced level- Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
SAP is a plus.
