Export Compliance Classification Specialist
We are looking for:
The Export Compliance Classification Specialist will be responsible for assigning export control classifications for Syensqo products under applicable dual-use and military regulations, with a primary focus on US, EU, and UK export control frameworks.
In addition to classification activities, the role will support strategic compliance initiatives and serve as a backup for other trade compliance activities, including export license management.
We count on you to:
Perform export control classifications for Syensqo products, including composite material products, under US, EU, and UK dual-use and military regulations.
Conduct targeted classification reviews and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of classification determinations and related documentation.
Liaise with business teams, R&D, product stewardship, legal, and supply chain functions to collect technical information and resolve data gaps required for classifications.
Manage Commodity Jurisdiction (CJ) assessments and related classification requests, including support for CJ and CCATS ruling submissions, preparation of technical documentation, coordination with internal stakeholders, and maintenance of associated compliance records.
Support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Control Technology Plan (CTP) and contribute to related compliance projects.
Collaborate with other Syensqo trade compliance experts globally to ensure alignment and consistency in classification methodologies and regulatory interpretations.
Maintain classification records and supporting documentation in accordance with internal compliance procedures.
Assess the impact of export control regulations on the product portfolio and identify potential compliance risks or restrictions.
Provide backup support for additional trade compliance activities, including export license management and regulatory reporting, as needed.
Monitor regulatory developments related to export controls and communicate relevant changes to internal stakeholders.

You will bring:
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree required
Specialized training or certification in export controls/trade compliance is a plus
Minimum Experience
5+ years of experience in export controls and trade compliance
Strong knowledge of US export control regulations (EAR and ITAR) required
Familiarity with EU and UK dual-use and military export control regulations preferred
Experience conducting technical product classifications in a manufacturing or chemical/materials environment is highly desirable
Knowledge of SAP is a plus, but not required

The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $88,480 - 110,600 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
