We are seeking a Logistics & Customer Service Specialist in Danville, VA, a region known for its rich tobacco manufacturing heritage. This role will support customer order fulfillment, logistics coordination, and supply chain operations for a leading tobacco manufacturer.

Position Summary
The Logistics & Customer Service Specialist is responsible for coordinating customer orders, shipments, and logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of finished goods. This role serves as a key point of contact between customers, internal departments, and transportation providers while supporting inventory management, export processes, and supply chain efficiency.  

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, internal departments, transportation providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage customer orders and ensure timely fulfillment of market requirements.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including transportation scheduling, tracking, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare and maintain shipping, export, and transportation documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels and help prevent stock shortages.
  • Manage transportation activities within SAP, including order processing, delivery monitoring, and invoice validation.
  • Support export operations and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize freight planning and logistics performance.
  • Coordinate tax stamp requirements and related compliance activities.
  • Assist with transportation forecasting, logistics planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, customer service, supply chain, international trade, or a related environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
