    About This Job

    The Express Automotive Technician plays a vital role in our service team, delivering fast, reliable maintenance and inspections. This position focuses on providing efficient, high-quality service that keeps our customers' vehicles running safely and smoothly. You contribute directly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of our service department by quickly addressing essential vehicle needs.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities

    As an Express Automotive Technician, you perform critical maintenance tasks with precision and speed. You ensure vehicles meet safety and performance standards while upholding our commitment to excellent service.

    • Performs efficient Oil Changes, ensuring proper fluid levels and filter replacement.
    • Executes precise Tire Rotations to promote even tire wear and extend tire life.
    • Conducts thorough Multi-Point Inspections, identifying potential issues and recommending necessary services.
    • Checks and tops off all essential Fluid Checks, including coolant, brake fluid, and power steering fluid.
    • Replaces air and cabin Filter Replacement accurately, improving vehicle air quality and engine performance.
    • Tests batteries for optimal performance and advises on Battery Testing needs.
    • Advises on and performs routine Preventative Maintenance tasks.
    • Repairs tires safely and effectively, addressing punctures and ensuring proper inflation during Tire Repair.
    • Inspects brake systems for wear, ensuring vehicle safety and optimal stopping power during Brake Inspection.
    • Balances wheels for smooth vehicle operation and improved ride comfort through Wheel Balancing.
    • Maintains a clean and organized work bay, adhering to all safety protocols.
    • Communicates effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle status and recommended services.
    • Utilizes diagnostic tools and equipment to assess vehicle conditions accurately.

    Required Qualifications

    Education

    • Possesses a high school diploma or GED.

    Experience

    • Holds entry-level experience in automotive service or a related field.
    • Demonstrates experience with basic vehicle maintenance tasks.

    Knowledge/Skills

    • Applies fundamental knowledge of automotive systems and components.
    • Exhibits proficiency in performing routine vehicle maintenance and inspections.
    • Operates hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
    • Follows technical instructions and service manuals accurately.
    • Shows strong attention to detail in all tasks.
    • Commits to maintaining a safe working environment.
    • Possesses basic diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Holds vocational training or certification in automotive technology.
    • Obtains ASE certifications, particularly in areas like brakes, suspension, or engine performance.
    • Maintains a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Works effectively in a fast-paced, express service environment.

    Physical Requirements/Work Conditions

    • Lifts up to 50 pounds regularly.
    • Stands, walks, bends, stoops, and kneels for extended periods.
    • Works in an environment with exposure to noise, fumes, and varying temperatures.
    • Requires manual dexterity and good vision to perform detailed tasks.
