Norfolk Collegiate is seeking an Extended Care Worker to join our after-school extended care program. This position provides direct supervision, care, and structured engagement for elementary students, fostering a safe, supportive, and active environment after the school day ends.Compensation & Employment Details:Pay Rate:$15.00 per hour for candidates with relevant college coursework$20.00 per hour for candidates holding a college degree in EducationPosition Type: Part-time, non-exempt (hourly)Hours: 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday during the academic yearTarget Student Population: Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5Key Responsibilities:Provide active supervision and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for children in Pre-K through 5th grade during after-school hoursFacilitate age-appropriate activities, games, and projects tailored to elementary school studentsAssist students with homework completion and provide constructive educational supportManage secure check-in and check-out procedures for students arriving from class and leaving with approved guardiansMaintain positive communication with parents, guardians, and school administration regarding student well-being and daily participationGuide student behavior constructively, ensuring adherence to school standards and safety guidelinesQualifications:One to three years of experience working with young children requiredCollege coursework in elementary education, child development, or psychology from a two-year or four-year institution required; a completed degree in Education is highly preferredStrong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills suitable for an educational environmentInterested candidates should upload a cover letter, resume, three professional references, an unofficial copy of transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate degrees, and, if applicable, teacher certifications.
