Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Child Development Programs, provide direct site supervision of extended day programs and be available to staff, parents, children, and site personnel in the performance of program requirements; provide direct oversight and instruction of elementary and middle school age children, effectively collaborate and communicate with parents, and partial leadership over site leads and program Assistants in the performance of program requirements; provide meaningful learning assistance and enrichment activities for children attending the district school site extended day program.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of: • Child guidance practices and an understanding of the goals and objectives of grade TK-8 school programs. • Emotional, physical, and mental variations and needs of TK-8 school-aged children. • Curriculum development. Extended Day Programs Site Coordinator Page 2 of 4 Revised by GUSD - January 2026 • Recognize and respond to the individual needs and differences of children to effectively engage and motivate them. • Arithmetic, grammar, spelling, language, and reading sufficient to direct children with learning exercises or projects. • Computer and multimedia equipment operations including common office productivity software, internet, and computer-aided teaching programs. • Creative writing skills to prepare and/or adapt age-appropriate class materials and reports. • Well-developed human relations skills to effectively interact with children, staff, and families; facilitate small-group learning and enrichment activities; support the resolution of conflicts; and maintain positive working relationships. Education and Experience: • Education: an Associate's Degree that includes 24 college units in Child Development or Early Childhood Education, or a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. See permit requirements under Licenses and other Requirements. • Experience: Two (2) years of experience in a preschool or school age child enrichment program or daycare setting Licenses and other Requirements: • Site Supervisor Permit or equivalent issued by the California State Commission for Teacher Preparation and Licensing. • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification PLEASE SUBMIT A COMPLETE APPLICATION ALONG WITH THE FOLLOWING:
