Position Extended School Year School Nurse

Position Type: Part-time, Hourly

Department: Extended School Year - Summer 2026

Location: Hosmer Elementary School, WHS Moxley

Reports to: ESY Coordinators

Salary range: $42.00/hr

Dates: July 6, 2026 - August 6, 2026

Shift: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM, Monday - Thursday

Number of Positions: 2

General Description

The role involves providing direct care to students, ensuring health plans are updated, and communicating with families about illnesses or injuries. The nurse will handle daily needs, maintain care logs, support field trips, and attend training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service and treatment when needed. • Ensure student health plans, including but not limited to allergy plans, asthma action plans, seizure action plans, etc., are up-to-date for all students and followed. • Communicate with families regarding student illnesses, symptoms, injuries, and care given. • Respond to daily building-based nursing needs. • Maintain logs of care administered and complete other forms and documentation as required by the District. • Provide support to field trips as needed. • Attend pre-program training.

Qualifications

Required:

• BSN or RN license is required. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • CPR • First Aid Certification

Preferred:

• Experience as a school nurse, with preference given to candidates with pediatric expertise and experience.
