This position is located in Cut Bank, Montana.
The primary duty for County Extension Faculty is to assess local community needs, then to develop, implement, and evaluate Extension programming to meet those needs. The primary areas of focus of this Glacier County Extension agent position are in the areas of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Horticulture and 4-H Youth Development, with secondary emphasis on Community Vitality. The Glacier County Extension office is staffed by a Family and Consumer Sciences and 4-H Youth Development agent and an Agriculture and 4-H Youth Development agent.

Position Details
General Statement
Glacier County is located on the northwest edge of the Golden Triangle area of Montana. Cut Bank is the county seat and has a population of just over 3,000 according to 2024 census estimates. The total population of the county, according to that same source, is just over 13,600. Other towns and communities in Glacier County include Browning, East Glacier Park, and Babb. Cut Bank is located approximately 50 miles east of Glacier National Park and sits about 100 miles northwest of Great Falls. Primary industries in Glacier County include agriculture, tourism, oil and gas exploration/production, and government employment. A large portion of the county is comprised of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and the east half of Glacier National Park. There are seven Hutterite Colonies in the county. The Glacier County 4-H program has 81 youth members, 24 adult volunteers, and four organized clubs. There is an Extension Office on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning that serves an additional eight 4-H clubs. In addition to this position, Glacier County Extension is staffed with a Family and Consumer Sciences agent.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
If the successful candidate holds a Master's degree, the position will be filled as a tenure track position. If the successful candidate does not hold a Master's degree, the position will be filled as a non-tenure track position; however, upon completion of a Master's degree, they will transition to a tenure track position.
Must possess currently or be eligible to obtain a valid State of Montana Driver's license and have an acceptable driving record (less than 12 points), or have other reliable means of transportation. Must have access to a vehicle to use for work (mileage will be reimbursed), and have minimum vehicle liability insurance. Do NOT send a copy of the driver's license.
