Summary of Job Duties:

The Extra Help/Communications Associate position supports the athletics communications office with game-day operations, media relations assistance, and content production while serving as primary contact for at least one sport. This role is ideal for individuals seeking hands-on experience in collegiate sports communications, media operations, and digital content support. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in a collegiate athletic department or setting

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

Game-Day & Media Operations

  • Assist with press box operations, credentialing, and media hospitality;
  • Support live statistics, score reporting, and postgame information distribution;
  • Assist with setup and breakdown of communications work areas during events.

Writing & Content Support

  • Assist with writing game recaps, statistics summaries, and basic content updates;
  • Help update athletics websites, rosters, schedules, and results as assigned;
  • Support content needs for digital and social platforms.

Statistical & Records Support

  • Assist with compiling statistics, records, and historical data;
  • Help maintain media notes, archives, and communications materials.

Administrative & General Support

  • Assist with office operations, scheduling, and correspondence;
  • Coordinate with coaches, staff, and student workers as needed.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience in all platforms of social media management
  • Experience writing press releases
  • Ability to fill a variety of game day roles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Adobe Creative Suite
  • Video/photography skills a plus
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a team-oriented fast paced environment
