Extruder Operator

We are currently hiring an Extruder Operator at our Flippin, AR location on 3rd shift. Reporting to the Molding Shift Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Injection Molding machines. This position can be on any shift. First shift is 8am-4pm, 2nd shift is 4pm-12am, and 3rd shift is 12am-8am.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain maximum product output, ensuring that production is cost effective, making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.  
• Monitor the production levels of the corrugated tubing.  
• Responsible for setting up Extruder/Corrugator process parameters to produce a quality part within the required cycle times.  
• Responsible for tracing and correcting faults in the Extruded/Corrugated tubing process conditions to correct rejections for dimensional and visual defects. 
• Provide Extruder/Corrugator with the proper raw materials.  
• Monitor all support equipment.  
• Able to perform size changes to Corrugator blocks and material and screw changes when needed to Extruder.  
• Maintain work area in an orderly manner and to be free from debris, parts, runners, and items not required to perform job. Clean and degrease machines and equipment as assigned. Empty trash and recycle bins as needed.  
• Properly complete all required paperwork and electronic data entry of information pertaining to assignments.  
• Comply with safety regulations. Ensure that all safety devices are properly in place when performing duties.  
• Communicate any opportunities for improvements to management.  
• Ensure a positive work environment and awareness of company goals and objectives. 
• Actively assist in training others ass assigned.  
• Perform other duties as assigned.  

Skills and Experience:

• Be able to work accurately in a fast pace, high change environment, with limited supervision; self-starter. Strong attention to detail with excellent prioritization and follow up skills. 
• Must rely on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals in a variety of tasks.  
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.  
• Must be able to work well in a team environment.  
• Mechanical aptitude.  
• Ability to work overtime.  
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items 25-50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
