Extrusion Operator Rotating Shift

Phillips Staffing is hiring for an Extrusion Operator to join the team at a manufacturer of textile and polymer products in Spartanburg, SC!  Responsibilities:

• Monitor extruder temperatures, control pressure and spin pack pressure.
• Change extruder filters.
• Monitor polymer melt consistency.
• Assist in the thread up of the production line.
• Monitor the finish that is being applied.
• Clean finish and godet rollers.
• Watch for and remove wraps.
• Change screens as needed.
• Accurately maintain documentation of all appropriate machine malfunctions, quality issues, operational data.
• Assist with changing, building and breaking down packs as needed.
• Operate tensile testing equipment
• Use microscope to check quality of finished products
• Check gauges and levels and understand control systems

Requirements:

• 1 year manufacturing experience required preferably in fiber extrusion
• Analytical skills required.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be self-motivated
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Must be productive with the ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work Overtime, as required
• Must follow the dress code: Steel Toe shoes are required, plant wide
• Ability to frequently lift weights up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb up and down stairs

Shift Schedule: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm for two weeks, 7:00 pm - 7:00 am for 2 weeks (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on) Pay Rate: Starting at $22.52/Hour, Based on Experience
