POSITION SUMMARY:

• Responsible foru202fmaintainingu202fprotocols as directed by the MRI Coordinator/Lead(s).u202f
• Performs andu202fmaintainsu202fdaily check-ups and quality control on MRI scanners required by American College of Radiology (ACR), and theu202fstateu202fDepartment of State Health Services and any other credentialing organizations as required byu202flaw.u202f
• Responsible foru202fmaintainingu202fa safe MR environment including proper screening of all persons entering the MRI suite following best practice standards.
• Performs IV insertion when contrast is needed following proper guidelines asu202festablishedu202fby Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).u202f
• Demonstrates competency andu202fproficiency, following protocols, in the performance of:u202fAll MRI examinations and equipment in their assigned work area, proper positioning of the patient, selectionu202fof theu202fappropriate protocolu202fwhileu202fmaintainingu202facceptable technical adjustments, proper post processing of MRI examinations and proper identification of cross-sectional anatomy.u202f

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Graduate ofu202frecognized,u202fapproved AMAu202fcouncilu202fof Education program in radiological technology.u202f
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)u202for the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).u202f
• Requires currentu202fBLS.u202f
• Mustu202fdemonstrateu202fabilityu202fto perform intravenous injections withu202fproficiency.u202f
• Ability to deal efficiently and courteously with all clinical personnel and patients, and tou202festablishu202feffective working relationshipsu202f
