Job Description Advance how our customers operate while you advance your career. Join GDIT as a F5 Systems Engineer. This role plays a crucial role in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting F5 load balancing and traffic management systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of critical applications and services for USCENTCOM.Duties and Responsibilities Configure, deploy, and maintain F5 BIG‑IP systems, including load balancers, ADCs, and SSL offloading.Design and implement traffic management rules, including GSLB and LSLB.Monitor F5 systems for health and performance, providing proactive recommendations.Configure and maintain iRules for application traffic.Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.Support incident response and root‑cause analysis for F5‑related critical application issues.Develop and maintain documentation: configuration guides, troubleshooting guides, SOPs.Provide technical support & guidance to other IT teams and end‑users.Assist in upgrades, patches, and troubleshooting to ensure continued system functionality.Collaborate with vendors to resolve hardware or software issues.Required Skills and Experience 8+ years of related experience with F5 BIG‑IP systems, load balancers, ADCs, and SSL offloading.Hands‑on experience with F5 iRules and traffic management policies.Knowledge of networking protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS.Experience troubleshooting complex F5 performance, connectivity, and security issues.Familiarity with monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., F5 Analytics).Strong understanding of application delivery, load balancing, and optimization.Excellent documentation skills.Desired Certifications and Skills F5 Certified Administrator (F5‑CA) or F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5‑CTS).ITIL4 Foundation Certification.DoD8140 or DoD8570 certification.Experience with USCENTCOM mission and operations.Experience with hybrid cloud or multi‑cloud integration.Familiarity with automation tools: Ansible, Terraform.DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and security mechanisms in F5 load balancing context.Security Clearance and Citizenship Top Secret/SCI clearance required. Must be US citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI and work on site in Tampa, FL (MacDill AFB).
