Job Position: Fire Alarm Apprentice
Pay Rate: $18 $19/hr
TradeSTAR is hiring an Entry-Level Fire Alarm Helper to assist on commercial fire alarm installation, service, and inspection projects throughout the Austin area. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working alongside experienced technicians.
Responsibilities
Assist technicians with commercial fire alarm installations and service work.
Pull and route low-voltage fire alarm cable.
Help install smoke detectors, pull stations, heat detectors, notification devices, and related equipment.
Support conduit installation, J-hooks, cable supports, and pathway systems.
Assist with testing, troubleshooting, and system verification.
Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe.
Follow safety procedures and support code-compliant installations.
Assist with tools, materials, and other general labor tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Construction or low-voltage experience is helpful but not required.
Willingness to learn commercial fire alarm systems.
Ability to work well with a team and follow directions.
Basic hand tools and job site safety knowledge are a plus.
Able to lift materials and work from ladders or lifts.
Reliable transportation required.
