Job Summary:

The Fabric Receiving & Processing Manager is responsible for overseeing the receipt, inspection, tracking, storage, and preparation of fabrics for production. This role ensures accurate inventory, maintains quality standards, coordinates with production and purchasing teams, and manages staff to support efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily fabric receiving, inspection, and processing operations.
  • Verify incoming fabric shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Responsible for the inspection of fabrics for quality, color, defects, and specifications.
  • Ensure proper labeling, measuring, and inventory recording of all received materials.
  • Coordinate fabric movement between receiving, cutting, and production departments.
  • Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular cycle counts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in shipments or inventory.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for fabric handling and storage.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise receiving and processing staff.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies and company procedures.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, quality assurance, and production teams to meet manufacturing schedules.
  • Generate reports on inventory, receiving activities, and operational performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and cost savings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Textile Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse, textile, inventory, or manufacturing operations.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of fabric types, textile inspection standards, and inventory control systems.
  • Experience using AS400 or warehouse management software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
