Fabrication Helper

Locations: Houston, TX 77051, 77021 & 77045
Day & Night Shifts Available
Pay: $15.00–$20.00/hour DOE (Depending on Experience)
Night Shift Premium: Additional 10% shift differential on top of the offered rate

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable Fabrication Helpers to support our fabrication team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position assists Fitters, Welders, and Supervisors with fabrication and assembly activities while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review work assignments and gather required tools and materials

  • Assist Fitters, Welders, and Supervisors with fabrication operations

  • Prepare raw materials by cleaning, measuring, and staging materials for production

  • Operate basic fabrication tools and equipment under supervision

  • Follow blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to support fabrication activities

  • Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on tools and equipment

  • Assist with moving, lifting, and positioning materials and fabricated components

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S principles

  • Adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies

  • Participate in safety meetings and training programs

  • Report safety concerns and hazards to supervisors

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of fabrication experience

  • Experience operating a forklift and overhead crane

  • Ability to perform tack welding (jack welds)

  • Basic understanding of fabrication processes, tools, and equipment

  • Ability to read a tape measure and use basic measuring tools

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures

  • Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environment

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles

  • Knowledge of fabrication shop safety procedures and best practices

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Work performed in a manufacturing/shop environment

  • Frequent lifting and moving of materials up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift

  • Ability to work up to 10-hour shifts and overtime as needed

  • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned facility

  • Safety glasses required; hearing protection recommended

  • Steel-toe boots required
