Job Description

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for organizing, planning, coordinating, and staffing the Fabrication department
  • Accountable for meeting production, quality, and safety targets
  • Directly manage, coach, and develop all fabrication personnel
  • Responsible for performance management, including coaching, discipline, and input into hiring and termination decisions
  • Manage the department in a cost-effective manner through sound production planning and resource allocation
  • Exercise independent judgment in production scheduling, staffing, and operational decision-making
  • Responsible for maintaining the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies to support fabrication requirements
  • Review production and welding records for accuracy and performance tracking
  • Partner with Welding Engineering to review and ensure adherence to welding procedures and specifications
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Assist and recommend equipment acquisition, upgrades, and process improvements
  • Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organization of the fabrication shops
  • Responsible for generating non-compliance reports and initiating corrective and preventative actions in accordance with operating procedures
  • Responsible for maintaining and promoting a safe working environment in accordance with HSE procedures
  • Comply with all NOV Company and Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Ensure alignment with company objectives and operational goals
  • Other duties as assigned by Plant Manager
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have high school diploma or GED 5+ years experience in fabrication and/or manufacturing environment
  • 2-5 years experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Oilfield equipment manufacturing knowledge preferred
  • Working knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies preferred

  • Computer literacy (including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of welding and heat-treating processes
  • Must be able to do extensive walking, bending, stooping, and moderate to heavy lifting
