Overview

FABRICATION SHOP ESTIMATOR (PLTX):

We are seeking a Fabrication Shop Estimator to join our team in Plano, Texas. The Fabrication Shop Estimator is responsible for determining the accurate cost for producing manufactured products. 

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include: 

  • Determining proper material, operations, labor and machines to be utilized in production for each part quoted.
  • Ensuring all information is obtained to perform job requirements successfully and support any supplier collaborations.
  • Work with the Fab Shop General Manager, Program Manager and business unit engineering to develop solutions to properly estimate the manufacture of the component; finalize and provide detail quotations.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to meet requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate the implementation and execution of cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects.
  • Use data-driven approaches to enhance production performance and reduce waste.
  • Ensure that all necessary materials and supplies are available for department production.
  • Help coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or tradesperson with industry experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of estimating experience in the fabrication industry or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal, machining, welding and finish fabrication processes
  • Experience with CNC machinery, laser cutting, or press brake operations
  • Robust interpretation of engineering drawings with a solid understanding of GD&T
  • Strong math, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Project management experience is a strong asset and will help support job planning, coordination, and execution.
  • Strong time-management skills; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
  • Experience in Aerospace & Defense is considered an asset
  • Valid Driver’s license

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check. US Citizenship is a requirement at this location.
