The Fabrication Shop Helper is an entry-level, full-time position that supports fabrication shop operations involving metal, wood, and finished components. This role assists welders, fabricators, and shop staff with material handling, basic fabrication tasks, woodworking support, surface preparation, and painting. Training is provided.

• Assist welders and fabricators with daily shop tasks
• Load, unload, move, and stage metal, wood, and finished materials
• Cut, clean, grind, sand, and prep metal and wood components under supervision
• Perform basic woodworking tasks such as cutting, assembling, sanding, and fastening wood parts
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming
• Apply basic paint or coatings using rollers, brushes, or spray equipment as trained
• Operate basic hand and power tools after training
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Follow all safety policies and PPE requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• No prior fabrication, woodworking, or painting experience required
• Willingness to learn hands-on skills
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow instructions
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physical labor
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
Fabrication shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, paint fumes, heat, and heavy equipment. Use of required PPE including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators when needed, and steel-toe boots.
Full-time, typically Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required based on workload.
