Fabrication Shop Manager

Position Overview



We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Fabrication Shop Manager to lead our manufacturing operations and drive excellence in our production facility. This critical leadership role requires a hands-on professional who combines technical expertise with exceptional management capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a problem-solver mindset, demonstrate superior organizational skills, and have proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced fabrication environment.



As Fabrication Shop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our shop operations, from production planning and quality control to team development and safety compliance. You will serve as the bridge between upper management and the production floor, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities



Operations Management



  • Oversee daily fabrication shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal resource utilization and team oversight
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients.
  • Develop and implement production schedules that meet customer deadlines while maximizing shop capacity
  • Monitor production processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and efficiency gains
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and supplies
  • Manage shop equipment maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
  • Generate fabrication time lines
  • Collaborate with estimating team
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and best practices throughout the facility


Team Leadership & Development



  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of fabricators, welders, and production staff
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
  • Create and maintain a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, accountability
