
Shop Mechanic

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Fabrication Shop Mechanic to repair vehicles and shop equipment and machinery. This role is essential to keeping production running safely and efficiently by minimizing downtime and ensuring all equipment is operating at peak performance.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
| Compensation: | Commensurate with experience. |
| Benefits: | Competitive Benefits. Available on the 1st of the month after a 30-day waiting period from the hire date. Phillips Tank pays approximately 60% and employees pay 40% of medical benefits premiums. Employees pay 100% for all other voluntary benefits. Paid Time Off. |

Responsibilities:- Perform preventative maintenance on fabrication vehicles and welding machines
- Maintain maintenance logs and service records
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns
- Work with supervisors to prioritize repairs and minimize production delays
- Ensure welding machinery complies with safety standards
- Support OSHA compliance
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area
- Recommend equipment upgrades
- Assist with new equipment installation and setup if needed
- Ability to weld or willingness to learn
Qualifications:- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Technical/trade certification preferred)
- Experience: 1 year of mechanical/welding experience
- Technical Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards
- Teamwork & Collaboration:
- Proven team player with clear and respectful communication skills
- Curious and eager to learn new tools, processes and industry standards

- Strong problem-solving mindset with the initiative to dig into issues and propose solutions
- Continuous Improvement mindset
- Documentation & Organization:
- Capable of maintaining accurate project records, reports, and drawing packages
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage parts inventory
