OVERVIEW:
The Class A Fabricator is a senior-level role responsible for the fabrication and assembly of complex, custom signage, and sheet metal products. This position serves as a technical expert and safety leader within the department, ensuring high-quality production standards while training and mentoring team members.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead safety initiatives by identifying, correcting, and preventing workplace hazards
- Train and mentor employees on safe work practices, equipment use, and fabrication processes
- Interpret and execute work from complex shop drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation with full independence
- Fabricate and assemble advanced custom signage, including architectural, multi-part, and non-standard designs
- Apply advanced welding and fabrication techniques in accordance with certifications and industry standards
- Ensure all work meets quality expectations, specifications, and production timelines
- Support continuous improvement efforts and promote best practices across the fabrication team
Qualifications:
- OSHA 10 certification required
- Certification in welding or sign fabrication (internal or external)
- Extensive experience in sheet metal and/or sign fabrication
- Advanced ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop documentation
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and lead others in a production environment
