Position: Performs difficult and unusual TIG welding operations on a wide variety of grades of steel to make assemblies involving complex setups, procedures, and fixtures. Uses other equipment in the fabrication process which includes saw, grinders, various hand power tools, etc. Performs duties under thesupervision of a Fabricator II team member and/or Supervisor. Job Responsibilities:
Works with limited supervision to meet engineering drawing specifications.
Able to TIG weld in all positions.
Troubleshoots complex weldments when parts don’t fit up right, parts are missing, or parts are made wrong and corrects the issue by fabricating to make it work or notifying Supervision to get corrected or missing parts produced.
Able to travel to customer locations for installs.
Sets welding machine voltage and wire speed for proper fusion of metals following standard work methods and detail engineering drawings/prints.
Produces complex weld assemblies within tight tolerances where considerable knowledge and skill in the field of welding and fabrication are required to produce quality results.
Performs regular maintenance per ISO Company standards and fills out the required paperwork.
Performs minor repairs on welding equipment to ensure proper working order.
Inspects weldments for obvious and non-obvious defects such as but not limited to: weld splatter, rough welds, missing welds, pin holes.
Fills out all job-related paperwork on Job Travelers to meet company ISO standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Skills:
Basic reading, writing and math skills.
Able to convert fractions to decimals, and metric to inches.
Advanced blue print reading and interpretation.
Advanced measuring tool knowledge to include tape measures, calipers, etc.
Able to operate material handling devices to include Fork Trucks, and Cranes/Hoists.
Meet all the qualifications of Welder II.
Good standing with Attendance.
Few to no errors that create rework NCT tags.
Works efficiently completing jobs within estimated/average times.
Education:
Weld school or obtains Certified Welding Certificates.

AWS D1.2 Aluminum
AWS D1.3 Sheet Steel
AWS D1.6 Stainless Steel
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical demand.
Frequent lifting/moving weights up to 70 lbs.
Frequent standing/walking throughout an 8 hour shift.
Occasional pushing, pulling, bending kneeling, twisting, reaching, and climbing.
Able to work in hot and cold environments.
