Fabricator

Metal Fabrication Shop Laborer to assist with daily shop and material-handling operations. This position includes loading and organizing steel, operating shop equipment, preparing fabricated parts, and keeping the work area clean and safe.

• Load, unload, move, and organize steel and other materials
• Operate a forklift to load and move material when trained and authorized
• Measure and mark material using a tape measure
• Operate saws, drills, grinders, and other shop tools
• Grind, deburr, and clean fabricated parts
• Assist fabricators with preparing material and completing jobs
• Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized
• Follow shop safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
• Perform other general shop duties as assigned

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Dependable and able to report to work on time
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Basic tape-measure skills or willingness to learn
• Willing to learn how to safely operate saws, drills, grinders, and other shop equipment
• Willing and able to operate a forklift
• Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical shop work throughout the shift
• Able to safely lift and move materials using proper equipment or assistance when needed
• Able to wear required personal protective equipment
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and organization
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
