Location: Sterling Heights, MI

We are seeking a highly skilled Metal Fabricator / Model Maker with hands-on experience in aerospace sheet metal fabrication and traditional hand tool equipment. This role is ideal for a craftsman who excels in precision work and "old school" fabrication techniques used to build complex models and components. Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and assemble aerospace sheet metal components and models
  • Use manual fabrication techniques and hand tools (shears, brakes, rollers, English wheel, hammers, dollies, etc.)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and templates
  • Perform layout, forming, cutting, bending, and shaping of metal materials
  • Build prototypes, mock-ups, and production parts to tight tolerances
  • Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on custom builds and revisions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in metal fabrication or model making
  • Strong background in aerospace sheet metal (required)
  • Expertise with hand tools and manual fabrication equipment ("old school" skillset)
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • High attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building prototypes, tooling, or concept models
  • Background in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing
  • Welding or finishing experience (a plus)
