RoadGuard

RoadGuard is looking for an experienced Fabricator/Welder to join our team. This is a hands-on fabrication role working with steel and other metals to build, modify, and repair components used in highway safety and infrastructure projects, including guardrail, bridge railing, fencing, gates, signage mounts, and other custom-fabricated products.

We're looking for someone who has solid MIG and Stick welding experience, can read blueprints and shop drawings, and is comfortable working independently in a fabrication shop. Experience in highway construction or guardrail is a plus, but it is not required if you have strong welding and fabrication experience.

What You'll Do

• Fabricate and weld steel, aluminum, and other metals using MIG and Stick welding processes

• Read and work from blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and project specifications

• Build and modify guardrail components, bridge railings, commercial fencing, gates, signage mounts, and other custom-fabricated products

• Cut, shape, measure, fit, and assemble metal components

• Operate fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters, ironworkers, band saws, and hydraulic press brakes

• Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity

• Perform equipment repairs and troubleshoot mechanical or hydraulic issues as needed

• Assist field crews with repairs or modifications when needed

• Maintain fabrication and quality-control documentation

• Keep the shop clean, organized, and safe

• Follow OSHA requirements, welding safety procedures, and PPE requirements

• Help train and support less-experienced welders and fabricators when needed

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of professional welding and metal fabrication experience

• Strong experience with MIG (GMAW) and Stick (SMAW) welding

• Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and technical specifications

• Experience working with structural steel

• Ability to accurately measure, fit, cut, and fabricate metal components

• Experience using common fabrication shop equipment and tools

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to produce clean, consistent, inspection-ready welds

• Ability to pass a practical welding test upon hire

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver's license

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand, bend, crouch, and perform physical work throughout the day

Nice to Have

• TIG welding experience

• Welding certifications or trade/welding school training

• Experience troubleshooting or repairing hydraulic or mechanical equipment

• Experience operating forklifts, skid steers, excavators, or similar equipment

• Previous experience in highway construction, structural fabrication, bridge railing, guardrail, commercial fencing, or infrastructure

US pay range for this role.

$24.03-$31.25 USD
