Summary
Summary
Performs skilled duties primarily as a HVAC technician based on experience and certification. Also responsible for performing routine maintenance procedures, troubleshoots all equipment maintenance problems, assists in other areas of facilities and grounds maintenance as directed. Assists with training and orientation of existing and new staff. Makes recommendations for process improvements, participates in lean initiatives. Participates in projects assigned to the department, performs all required preventative and corrective maintenance work orders, troubleshoots problems with facility equipment involving, electrical, mechanical, plumbing or HVAC failures. Maintains and services equipment and systems such as ice makers, pneumatic tube carriers, HVAC systems, doors/automatic openers and assists in the boiler plant operation. Maintains building finishes by performing drywall finishing, painting, staining and repair and application of wall coverings.
Education
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with GED. Two-years technical training from a vocational or technical school, preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Valid state driver's license is required. Requires a Journeyman's Card in HVAC or an Associate's Degree in HVAC; and EPA refrigerant certification.
Experience
Four-years combined experience as a maintenance tech and/or a commercial HVAC technician.
