Historic Landmark Venue | Richmond, VA | Full-Time

We' re looking for a hands-on Facilities & Event Manager to serve as the caretaker of one of Richmond' s beautiful historic venues - a landmark property that hosts member functions, private rentals, weddings, and community events year-round.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety: one day you' re setting up tables and chairs for an event, the next you' re coordinating a vendor repair or refreshing the grounds. You' ll be the person who makes sure everything works, looks its best, and welcomes every guest who walks through the door.

What You' ll Do

Keep the property beautiful and running smoothly
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs - touch-up painting, fixtures, lighting, floors, and the architectural details that make a historic building special
  • Build and manage schedules for cleaning, maintenance, and facility readiness
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers, and flag bigger repair priorities to leadership
  • Keep supplies stocked and the grounds - sidewalks, porches, parking areas, light landscaping

Bring events to life
  • Set up and break down event spaces (tables, chairs, floorplans) for club functions and rentals, or supervise vendor setups
  • Open and close the house for events, assist with lighting, sound, and logistics, and monitor spaces for safety and fire-code compliance
  • Reset event spaces, restrooms, and the kitchen after functions so the venue is always guest-ready

Be part of a close-knit team
  • Work alongside a small, mission-driven staff, supporting members, volunteers, and renters with warm, professional hospitality

What We' re Looking For
  • Practical experience with cleaning, event setup, routine repairs, maintenance, and groundskeeping
  • A genuine commitment to hospitality and to caring for a historic property
  • Self-starter who can prioritize and work independently, but collaborates easily with a team
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends around the event calendar
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, stand and move for extended periods, climb ladders and stairs, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather

The Details
  • Full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position — overtime is expected and paid
  • Schedule flexes with events, including nights and weekends

If you love the idea of being the go-to person for a one-of-a-kind Richmond property - where your work is visible in every perfectly set event - we' d love to meet you!
