Facilities Assistant 1st Shift

The Facilities Assistant position will maintain safe and efficient operations of all recycling functions at the plant. This position requires to operate a sit-down forklift to complete recycling operations.Duties and Responsibilities: Foster a safety culture that creates a work environment where no one gets hurtAdhere to Good Manufacturing PracticesAssists in developing solutions to specific problems through continual process improvementsStrong teamwork attitude and communication skillsFacilitate cross department requirements and supportFacilitate all recycling operations including loading/unloading trailersSort and segregate recyclable items from trashOperate a compactor, bailer, and forkliftsPerform wooden pallet repairs as needMaintain recycling work centers and outside of the facilityTrain teammates and new members to the recycling teamComplete additional tasks/duties as needed or directedMinimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalentKnowledge of warehouse operationsOrganizational, multi-tasking and time-management skillsOral/written communicationsOperate sit-down forklift (preferred)Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedlyWilling to work any shift, weekends, and some holidaysAble to work in a very cold (36 °F) and wet environmentFlexibility to work all shifts as neededOther Information:The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed, as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel so classified.
