What do we need:

The primary focus of the Facilities Assistant Manager position is to assist the planning and direction of all aspects of building maintenance and housekeeping.    

Responsibilities:

  • As a member of People Serving People’s management team, work with department leaders to understand and meet their maintenance and housekeeping requirements.  
  • Works with government agencies in regard to facility inquiries and inspections. 
  • Monitors safety devices, equipment and procedures and corrects hazardous conditions and practices. 
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and product quality standards issued by OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulatory agencies. 
  • Assists in procuring and supervising all outside service workers and contractors, secures bids and contracts, and insures the quality of work and services purchased. 
  • Assists in overseeing and coordinating staffing of maintenance and housekeeping staff and driver, scheduling pick-ups and deliveries, working closely with Food Services to ensure efficient 24-hour service delivery. 
  • Works closely with the Facilities Manager and Director of Operations regarding facilities expansion objectives contained in People Serving People’s strategic plan. 
  • Performs maintenance duties at multiple People Serving People locations as assigned. While the employee will have a primary work site, daily assignments may vary based on operational needs. 
  • Operates company vehicles, including a refrigerated box truck, for transportation of supplies, equipment, and donations as needed. 
  • Assists the Housekeeping Department with daily operational needs when assigned. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support Facilities and organizational operations. 
  • Performs other duties assigned by the Facilities Manager and Director of Operations. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  Position leads and manages the maintenance and housekeeping team.  Direct reports to the position include Maintenance and Housekeeping team and Driver/Inventory Associate.  

Pay and Benefits:

  • $31.63 per hour.
  • Full-Time, Tuesday - Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements:
  • Education Required: High School Diploma or GED 
  • Education Preferred: Specials Boilers License 
  • Computer Skills: Solid computer skills and experience with Microsoft applications, including proficiency with Word and Excel.
  • 5 years’ experience in facilities planning and management, and or combination of experience and education. 
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Health Card) within 30 days of hire. People Serving People will cover the cost. 
  • Must be able to safely operate company vehicles, including a refrigerated box truck. 
  • Boiler's license preferred. If not currently licensed, the selected candidate must be willing to obtain the required boiler's license, with training and licensing expenses paid by People Serving People. 
  • Experience working as part of a team. 
  • Experience working with people from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
