Requirements
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Facilities Auditor is responsible for evaluating parcel depots, warehouses, and related operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, safety, and cost control. This role combines hands-on operational knowledge with strong auditing discipline to identify risks, optimize processes, and uphold organizational and regulatory standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance & Standards Auditing
- Assess adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and industry standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to storage, handling, and transportation.
- Review and validate documentation, including inventory logs, shipment records, and safety reports.
Warehouse & Facility Inspections
- Conduct on-site audits of warehouses, distribution centers, and yard operations.
- Evaluate layout efficiency, space utilization, and storage practices.
- Inspect equipment condition, including forklifts, conveyors, and racking systems.
- Assist in the administration, maintenance, and auditing of facility-related documents, including lease agreements, insurance certificates, business licenses, permits, and compliance records, ensuring accuracy, validity, and timely renewals.
Safety & Risk Management
- Audit workplace safety practices and hazard controls.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety signage.
- Identify potential risks such as fire hazards, improper stacking, and blocked emergency exits.
Process Efficiency & Optimization
- Analyze inbound, outbound, and internal warehouse workflows.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
- Recommend actionable improvements to enhance productivity and throughput.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze audit findings and operational data to identify trends and risks.
- Prepare detailed audit reports with clear findings, risk assessments, and recommendations.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs), including inventory accuracy, order accuracy, and turnaround times.
Vendor & Third-Party Audits
- Evaluate vendor and partner performance to ensure contract compliance.
- Verify adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
Technology & Systems Review
- Assess the effectiveness and usage of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and tracking tools.
- Ensure data integrity and proper system utilization.
- Identify automation gaps and opportunities for system integration improvements
- May be required to perform tasks beyond those explicitly listed in this role.

- Working knowledge of:
- Inventory control systems
- Warehouse operations (receiving, picking, packing, shipping)
- Basic data analysis and reporting proficiency
- Understanding of workplace safety and regulatory compliance standards
Qualifications
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in:
- Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Business Administration
- Accounting or Finance
- 2-5+ years of experience in:
- Warehouse or distribution center operations
- Inventory management or quality control
- Logistics or supply chain environments
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work 40 hours per week.
Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Frequent standing, walking and physical inspections
Capability to inspect goods, equipment, and facility conditions thoroughly
Willing to travel to various job sites and other locations
Valid driver's license and proof of insurability required when job duties require use of motor vehicle
Requires exercising discretion in the decision-making process and maintaining strict confidentiality concerning the vendor, employee and company proprietary related information
