    Facilities Compliance Specialist

    Location: York, PA

    Pay: $38.37/hr

    Long term contract to hire



    Position Overview

    This position serves as a primary technical advisor for facilities compliance, ensuring operations align with regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and established safety standards.Reporting to the Facilities Compliance Manager, the Facilities Compliance Specialist will work closely with Facilities Managers to mitigate operational risks and maintain a safe, compliant working environment.The position is responsible for overseeing OSHA and local code compliance, managing Safe Work Permits, conducting hazard assessments, and implementing operational controls and maintenance compliance frameworks.


    Key Responsibilities

    Risk Mitigation and Safety Oversight

    • Partner with Facilities Managers to review upcoming projects and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards before work begins.
    • Evaluate ongoing work conditions and site performance through systematic inspections and audits.
    • Collaborate with site leadership to develop, implement, and monitor corrective actions.
    • Coordinate with the Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) department to monitor active operations and proactively reduce employee safety risks.
    • Identify opportunities to improve workplace safety practices and operational compliance.

    Regulatory Compliance and Technical Execution

    • Lead and support Regulatory Inspection, Permits, and Testing (RIPT) activities.
    • Coordinate scheduling, planning, and procurement of necessary resources for Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance activities.
    • Develop and maintain standardized frameworks for risk assessments and hazard analyses.
    • Provide training to ensure consistent application of risk assessment procedures across facilities operations.
    • Administer and maintain required safety documentation, including work permits and regulatory assessments.
    • Ensure facilities operations comply with applicable OSHA regulations, local building codes, and other regulatory requirements.

    Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement

    • Track and manage site safety data, compliance activities, and performance metrics using online management systems.
    • Analyze compliance and safety performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Develop reports and presentations to communicate safety performance and compliance findings to leadership.
    • Support corrective action initiatives and follow-up activities to ensure sustained compliance.

    Training, Collaboration, and Safety Culture

    • Coach employees and external contractors on applicable safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
    • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts, facilities personnel, and external vendors to address compliance concerns.
    • Support leadership in promoting a proactive, collaborative safety culture.
    • Encourage consistent adherence to established safety procedures and operational best practices.


    Required Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Typically requires four (4) years of experience in a full-service Facilities Management environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Technical Knowledge and Skills

    • Demonstrated working knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and codes, including:
    • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
    • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
    • Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
    • Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
    • Local building and safety codes
    • Experience supporting facilities operations across multiple types of environments, including corporate offices, manufacturing facilities, and warehouses.
    • Knowledge of facilities compliance, hazard identification, risk assessment, and workplace safety practices.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel for data tracking, reporting, and analysis.
    • Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and apply them to facilities operations and maintenance activities.
