    Description

    Gigafactory Texas is looking for a Facilities Controls Engineer to support site manufacturing. Come and join us to help accelerate the world s transition to sustainable energy.

    • Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
    • 8-10 years of direct operational facilities (semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.) experience building high-tech infrastructure
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
    • Ability to interface with multiple engineering disciplines
    • Advanced proficiency in programming industrial process including PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley) and Human Machine Interface (Ignition, Siemens Comfort Panel)
    • Ability to program state machines, data acquisition, and PID control and proven ability to design fault-tolerant systems with error handling and recovery
    • Proficiency programming and tuning variable frequency drives
    • Configuration of controls networks including field bus networks (ProfiNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Safety rated field bus networks), and serial communication (RS-232, Ethernet communications between machine PLCs and database systems)
    • Proficiency selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware, remote I/O, VFD and instrumentation and advanced proficiency in modern text-based programming languages (Python, Java, C, VB) and database systems (MSSQL, MySQL, Access) is a plus
    • Exposure to a wide variety of industrial sensors and equipment (level, temperature, and pressure transducers, current and power meters)
    • Design, develop, and implement control systems for facilities, including HVAC, Hydronics, Chemical, and other building systems
    • Develop and maintain control system documentation, including schematics, diagrams, and technical specifications
    • Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, including hardware and software problems
    • Collaborate with facilities staff, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure control systems meet operational requirements
    • Develop and implement energy efficiency projects and initiatives to reduce energy consumption and costs
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in control systems engineering
    • Physical ability to perform hands-on work in various environments, including heat, cold, rain, and tight quarters
    • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
    • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
