Facilities - Custodial

Position Summary

The Facilities - Custodial team member at the Salina Family YMCA is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all members, guests, and staff. This role supports the mission of the YMCA by ensuring that all facilities are properly cleaned and maintained to promote health, safety, and a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal throughout the facility.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and other common areas regularly.
• Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
• Ensure custodial supplies and equipment are properly used, maintained, and stored.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Facilities Manager promptly.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of rooms for YMCA programs and events as needed.
• Follow all YMCA policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with other staff to support a positive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
