\nThe Facilities & Custodial Support Lead is responsible for supporting the cleanliness, safety, readiness, and overall appearance of Phoenix Center for the Arts’ Downtown Main Campus.

Summary:
\nThe Facilities & Custodial Support Associate is responsible for helping maintain clean, safe, welcoming, and operationally ready facilities at Thunderbird Arts Center.
\nThis position performs custodial duties, supports classroom and event readiness, replenishes supplies, reports maintenance concerns, assists with basic facility needs, and helps ensure a positive experience for students, instructors, volunteers, renters, staff, and visitors.
\nThe Facilities & Custodial Support Associate will be assigned primarily to Thunderbird Arts Center.
\n\n
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
\nCustodial Support
\n● Perform routine cleaning and custodial tasks in assigned areas.
\n● Clean and restock restrooms.
\n● Empty trash and recycling containers.
\n● Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, studios, common areas, hallways, storage areas, and public-facing spaces.
\n● Assist with deep cleaning, seasonal cleaning, and special cleaning projects as assigned.
\nFacility Readiness
\n● Prepare assigned spaces for daily operations, classes, programs, rentals, and events.
\n● Assist with room resets, light furniture movement, and basic setup or cleanup.
\n● Monitor facility conditions during assigned shifts.
\n● Help ensure spaces are clean, stocked, safe, and ready for use.
\nSupply Monitoring
\n● Monitor restroom, custodial, and facility supply levels.
\n● Notify the appropriate staff member when supplies are low.
\n● Help organize and store supplies properly.
\n● Use supplies and equipment responsibly.
\nWork Order & Maintenance Support
\n● Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or building issues promptly.
\n● Submit or communicate facility concerns through the appropriate process.
\n● Assist with minor facility-related tasks within the scope of the role.
\n● Communicate urgent concerns to the appropriate staff member immediately.
\nEvent, Rental & Program Support
\n● Support event, rental, and program readiness as assigned.
\n● Assist with basic setup, cleanup, and space reset needs.
\n● Help maintain clean and welcoming spaces before, during, and after community use.
\nSafety & Security
\n● Follow safety and security procedures.
\n● Use cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials properly.
\n● Report potentially unsafe conditions.
\n● Help maintain safe and accessible spaces for all facility users.
\nTeamwork & Customer Service
\n● Maintain positive and professional interactions with staff, students, instructors, volunteers, renters, and visitors.
\n● Work cooperatively with the Facilities & Custodial Support Lead and other staff.
\n● Support a welcoming environment across PCA facilities.
\n\n

Qualifications:
\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
\n● Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in cleaning, custodial services, facilities support, event support, or related work preferred. Experience in public-facing, nonprofit, arts, education, or community spaces preferred.
\n● Language Skills: Ability to read and understand basic instructions, safety procedures, cleaning product labels, schedules, and written directions. Ability to communicate basic facility concerns clearly and promptly.
\n● Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to identify basic maintenance, cleaning, or safety concerns. Ability to escalate concerns appropriately.
\n● Computer Skills: Basic ability to use email, digital forms, shared files, or work order systems preferred.
\n\n
Physical Demands:
\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee may be required to use cleaning products, custodial tools, ladders, carts, or other basic facility-related equipment.
\n\n
Work Environment:
\nThe work environment includes classrooms, studios, restrooms, offices, galleries, theaters, outdoor areas, storage areas, and public-facing spaces. The noise level is usually moderate but may vary during events, rentals, classes, and performances.
