Ideal candidates will be motivated individuals who can work well in a team environment and independently in a multifaceted department.
Under general supervision, to lead, oversee, and perform a full range of custodial duties related to the care and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities. Will supervise and train provisional staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and fixtures, including sinks, urinals, and toilets; replenish restroom supplies.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment.
- Wash windows, mirrors, and walls.
- Clean hard surfaces, including countertops.
- Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles.
- Move and arrange furniture and equipment; set up rooms for conferences and meetings.
- Replace lights and adjust shades and blinds.
- Maintain grounds around the building; sweep walkways; remove snow and ice from walkways and stairs.
- Identify and report maintenance needs in assigned buildings and facilities; perform minor repairs.
- Perform administrative tasks such as completing daily check sheets, processing P-cards, and managing invoices.
- Ensure that buildings are secured at the close of shift.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A combination of the following experience and training would be qualifying.
- One year of custodial or environmental services experience.
- Formal or informal education or training that ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit, stand, kneel, crouch, squat, stoop, reach, crawl, twist, climb, lift 50 pounds, and push or pull 100 pounds.
- Exposure to noise, outdoor environments, confined workspaces, chemicals, dust, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards.
