Facilities Custodian Professional

Location: Birmingham, AL

Contract- 1 Year

Client- Alabama Power

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Facilities Custodian Professional to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment across our buildings and grounds. This role involves a variety of janitorial, minor maintenance, and groundskeeping duties, contributing to the overall functionality and appearance of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and waxing as needed
  • Empty and clean trash receptacles; collect and sort recyclables
  • Clean, sanitize, and restock supplies in restrooms
  • Service and maintain custodial equipment
  • Perform minor repairs to buildings, furniture, and equipment
  • Identify and report safety, sanitary, and fire hazards
  • Lock/unlock doors, windows, and gates as needed
  • Keep grounds areas clean and orderly

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous custodial or groundskeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Physically able to bend, squat, kneel, twist, and climb ladders
  • Familiar with custodial tools, techniques, materials, and equipment care
  • Comfortable working from heights or elevated surfaces when needed.
