As a Facilities Custodian & Light Carpentry Technician, you’ll keep spaces spotless and safe while lending basic carpentry support when needed. Your work ensures restrooms, offices, and both high- and low-traffic areas look their best and operate cleanly.
A day in the role
- Start by inspecting restrooms and office spaces; clean and sanitize thoroughly.
- Respond to spills promptly, following safe practice procedures at all times.
- Wipe down glass windows and doors as needed to maintain a streak-free shine.
- Collect trash throughout operational areas and manage compacting.
- Break down boxes when required to keep areas organized.
- Finish with floor care: sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming to standard.
- When assigned, perform light carpentry tasks using a rip saw, circular saw, and other power tools—always prioritizing safety.
What you bring
- Some carpentry experience and comfort using basic power tools.
- Evidence of prior cleaning experience; experience in manufacturing, hospital, or school settings is preferred and should be shown on your resume.
- Commitment to performing the responsibilities as described.
- Availability to work weekends when needed.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
