Facilities Custodian Worker

Location: Decatur, AL
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 2:00 PM–10:00 PM (32 hours a week)
Pay: $15.00–$16.00 per hour


Position Summary


We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Facilities Custodian Worker to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This position is responsible for the routine cleaning and upkeep of offices, restrooms, gym areas, breakrooms, common areas, and other facility spaces.


The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and is comfortable working independently while completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and fixtures.
  
  
• Clean offices, breakrooms, gym areas, hallways, and other common spaces.
  
  
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain flooring throughout the facility.
  
  
• Empty trash and replace liners as needed.
  
  
• Wipe down and disinfect frequently touched surfaces.
  
  
• Clean tables, counters, doors, windows, and other assigned areas.
  
  
• Restock restroom and facility supplies as needed.
  
  
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in an organized manner.
  
  
• Identify and report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
  
  
• Follow established safety procedures when using cleaning products and equipment.
  
  
• Assist with additional cleaning, custodial, or facility-related tasks as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities experience is preferred but not required.
  
  
• Ability to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision.
  
  
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
  
  
• Ability to safely use standard cleaning products, supplies, and equipment.
  
  
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying throughout the shift.
  
  
• Must be able to work the scheduled Monday–Thursday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM shift.
