    Facilities Department Lead

    USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is hiring a Full-Time Facilities Department Lead.

    USPI Arizona Specialty Hospital is a specialty inpatient hospital which was established to set a new standard for excellence and patient satisfaction in the delivery of orthopedic and spinal surgery. Arizona Specialty Hospital provides excellent patient services and the highest level of care, with the overall goal of improving the delivery of healthcare in Maricopa County and beyond.

    Job Summary:

    Under the direction of the Hospitality Services Director, the Facilities Lead performs a variety of routine to skilled general preventive maintenance duties in the repair, alteration and modification of building equipment, and facilities. The Facilities Lead is a working position that must provide day-to-day operations leadership and support to the employees of the Facilities Department. Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining daily documentation completed by Facilities Technicians. This position collaborates with others in the department as well as other departments in the hospital. Additional responsibilities include

    Duties and Responsibilities Include:

    • Inspects equipment and facility for proper operation and working conditions, maintains routine records and determines type and extent of malfunction of equipment and as necessary, adjusts, dissembles and repairs or replaces parts or components, reassembles and test for proper operation.
    • Maintain MSDS online program monthly update.
    • Review departmental utilization of and completes work orders in WorxHub program
    • Assists in providing complete documentation, records and reports as required by the hospital's Quality Department.
    • Collects documentation related to projects being completed on campus (repairs on refrigeration equipment, plumbing, water treatment, generator testing, etc.) and provides them to the Hospitality Services Director for review s and maintains.
    • Reports more serious problems to Director for further instructions or maintenance scheduling.
    • Maintains bi-weekly department work schedule
    • Reviews monthly PM logs to ensure they are complete Troubleshoots compressors, condensers and controls on refrigeration, ice machines, walk-in freezers and drinking fountains.
    • Uses plumbers, snakes, augers or plungers to open clogged drains.
    • Troubleshoots and makes repairs to TVs, remote controls, nurse call, etc.
    • Proficiently uses standard hand tools, cutting torch, welder, voltmeter, and amp meter.
    • General mechanical maintenance of hospital equipment, kitchen equipment, office machines and equipment and others. Excludes specialized and highly technical x-ray and surgical equipment requiring specialized training, experience and equipment.
    • Performs a variety of routine manual duties as required, such as repairs and assembling equipment and furniture, replacing fluorescent ballasts and tubes, cleaning and lubricating motors and other machinery. Sometimes required to move supplies, furniture and equipment, removing trash and scrap materials, etc.
    • Conducts routine safety and preventive maintenance programs to ensure that services are maintained without interruption.
    • Patch and paint walls, rooms, machinery and other surfaces.
    • Completed LS door inspections.
    • Assists Hospitality Director in maintaining and establishing department policies, procedures and objectives concerning quality assurance, safety, environmental conditions and infection control.
    • Participates and assists in preparing education to provide personal and professional growth through participation in department meetings, in-service programs and continuing education programs.
    • Maintains a professional attitude with patients, visitors and other hospital personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient and other hospital information.
    • Work a flex schedule and be available for call-backs for emergencies.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned and requested.
    • Actively participate in the Environment of Care Utilities program as well as the emergency management program.

    Assist in documented monthly education and employee development program for Facilities staff members.

    Required Skills:

    Qualifications:

    • High school, technical or electrical trade school graduate.
    • Two years' experience in general maintenance
    • General knowledge of plant maintenance.
    • Knowledge of tools and their use
    • Ability to work independently and have excellent

    problem solving skills.

    • Knowledge of equipment required, equipment used in hospitals preferred
    • Read schematics, manuals and blueprints, preferred
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

    Work with little supervision, take verbal instructions
