Job Description

Direct all facility and infrastructure operations, including maintenance, utilities, building systems, grounds, and site services. Develop and execute facility strategies that support production goals, operational efficiency, and future expansion plans. Lead maintenance and facilities teams, providing coaching, development, and performance management. Manage capital improvement projects, facility upgrades, equipment installations, and contractor activities. Oversee utility systems including electrical, water, HVAC, compressed air, refrigeration, and other critical plant infrastructure. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to safety, environmental, and facility operations. Establish and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility assets. Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and cost-control initiatives. Partner closely with Operations, Production, Quality, Safety, and Engineering teams to support plant performance objectives. Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability and reduce downtime. Manage vendor relationships, service agreements, and external contractors. Lead emergency preparedness, business continuity, and facility security programs. Drive energy management and sustainability initiatives where applicable. Ensure all facility activities are conducted in accordance with GMP, food safety, and company standards.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Facilities Director should have:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive facilities, maintenance, engineering, or plant operations leadership experience.
• Experience leading facilities operations within a manufacturing, food production, consumer products, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, utilities, maintenance programs, and facility infrastructure.
• Experience managing capital projects, contractors, budgets, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, and facility compliance standards.
• Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and developing high-performing organizations.
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency with CMMS systems, maintenance planning tools, and facility management software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to operational emergencies when necessary.
