Target Pay Rate: $50.00/hour (W2)

Job Summary:
Seeking a well-rounded CAD Designer to provide ongoing design and drafting support within their Facilities Engineering department. This role will primarily support electrical/controls schematics, building automation system (BAS) drawings, and fire protection documentation.
The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD experience and be comfortable supporting multiple engineering disciplines. This individual will work closely with engineering SMEs and learn the company's internal drawing standards, naming conventions, and documentation practices.
Must Have Skills:
- Strong AutoCAD experience.
- Professional experience as a CAD Designer, CAD Drafter, Engineering Designer, or similar.
- Experience developing or modifying electrical and/or controls drawings and schematics.
- Ability to interpret engineering markups, redlines, existing drawings, and technical information.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and technical SMEs.
Job Duties:
- Develop, revise, and maintain engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create and modify electrical and controls drawings and schematics.
- Support building automation system (BAS) and controls documentation.
- Support fire protection drawings and related engineering documentation.
- Update existing drawings based on engineering changes, field information, redlines, and SME input.
- Develop layouts and drawings associated with laboratories, equipment, and larger laboratory instruments as needed.
- Support 2D CAD drawings and, where applicable, 3D layouts/renderings.
- Maintain drawings within engineering document management processes.
- Coordinate with electrical, controls, fire protection, and other engineering SMEs to ensure drawings meet requirements.
- Learn and consistently apply internal drawing standards, naming conventions, and documentation practices.
- Support additional CAD and design needs as engineering workload and project priorities change.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, laboratory, pharmaceutical, or similar technical environment preferred.
- Exposure to building automation systems (BAS) or controls systems preferred.
- Experience with fire protection drawings or systems strongly preferred; specialized fire protection expertise is not required.
- Experience with engineering drawing/document management systems preferred; Meridian experience is a plus.
- Comfortable supporting multiple engineering disciplines rather than working within a single specialty.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple drawing requests and priorities.
