Join the PECNA team today.Job TitleFacilities Engineer IShiftDay ShiftDepartmentFacilitiesJob SummaryThe Facilities Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment. Plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs. Additionally, the Engineer ensures compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, and government agencies directives related to facility operations.Essential DutiesSupporting design and installation of facility systems composed of HVAC, dry room and dehumidifier, wastewater, electrical, emergency generators, fire and life safety systems and associated equipmentScheduling and cost control of facility system constructionDeveloping and monitor energy control and conservation systemsSupporting facility design for construction and updates for operational and energy efficienciesConducting routine, ongoing assessments of the facility systems operationsPerforming tests and rounds and analyzing data to assure the proper functioning of equipmentEnsuring energy efficient operations of all facility systemsAssisting, as necessary, with scheduling of preventive maintenance, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance with minimum disruption of building servicesEnsuring compliance with all safety procedures as well as utilization of protective equipmentMaintaining ongoing communication with vendorsAssisting in updating and/or maintaining as‑built drawingsResponding quickly to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, and equipment failure and customer concerns)Assisting with maintaining inventory control programsEnsuring compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, and government agencies directives related to facility operationsPPE RequirementsTo ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a requirement for some roles at PENA and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.EducationBasic/Required: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field, (or equivalent work experience).Essential Qualifications0 to 3+ years of hands‑on experience in operation/engineering of mission‑critical facilities and infrastructure (HVAC, dehumidifiers, generators, wastewater, fire/life safety systems)Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and WordEffectively communicate and interact in a manner that is professional and clear to all levels of fellow team members, customers, and other partiesMust have working‑level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting and constructing large facilities, preferably in advanced manufacturing environmentsDemonstrated experience with energy saving programsAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex project documents, including AutoCAD, Visio, and PDF documentsManage projects effectivelyDevelop installation standards and project tracking and management documentsRespond effectively, verbally, and in writing to sensitive issues, complex inquiries, or complaintsA high level of commitment to customer service to both coworkers and clientsBeing approachable and adaptable.
