About our group:

We are looking for a Facilities Engineer to support tool installation, facility improvement, and infrastructure projects for Seagate's R&D facilities. This role will help plan, coordinate, and execute projects while working closely with an experienced team of facilities technicians, contractors, vendors, engineers, and internal customers.

About the role - you will:

The Facilities Engineer will work on-site at our Fremont, CA facility to evaluate facility systems, improve operational efficiency, support maintenance planning, and help ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Plan and support tool installations, facility renovations, equipment upgrades, and infrastructure projects.
  • Review drawings, blueprints, specifications, reports, and facility data to support project planning and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate daily work with experienced facilities technicians and provide technical support as needed.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, engineers, and internal customers during planning, design, construction, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare project budgets, schedules, reports, RFP/RFQs, change orders, and other required documentation.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, contractor performance, and construction activities to ensure objectives are met.
  • Support maintenance planning for facility infrastructure, equipment, utilities, and operational systems.
  • Ensure work complies with building codes, safety requirements, environmental standards, permits, and company procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

About you:

  • Strong understanding of facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and utilities.
  • Experience with facility projects, tool installations, renovations, maintenance planning, or equipment upgrades.
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Ability to work well with technicians, contractors, vendors, engineers, and internal customers.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety requirements, permits, environmental standards, and compliance documentation.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

Your experience includes:

  • At least 3 years of facilities engineering, facilities project management, construction, or related experience.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, building systems, regulations, and codes.
  • Good communication, troubleshooting, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or a related field.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $76,918.40 - $100,006.40. The individual salary is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
