FACILITIES ENGINEER

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Facilities Engineer to support engineering and improvement projects across a campus of manufacturing and laboratory buildings in Milpitas, CA. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing, modifying, and improving facility infrastructure, manufacturing equipment, and processes that support electrical and electronic manufacturing operations.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Engineer will work closely with Facilities, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams to manage projects from concept through implementation. The site is also preparing for upcoming cleanroom projects, providing an opportunity to work on a variety of technical facility and manufacturing initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage engineering projects across multiple manufacturing and laboratory buildings, including planning, design, implementation, and coordination with internal teams and contractors.
• Design, modify, and improve facility systems, manufacturing equipment, machinery, and processes to support production and laboratory operations.
• Evaluate existing facilities, equipment, and infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement, increased reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Research equipment specifications, engineering requirements, and technical information to develop practical solutions for manufacturing and facility needs.
• Develop engineering proposals and evaluate the feasibility of facility and equipment modifications based on cost, available space, schedule, operational requirements, and technical considerations.
• Support projects involving critical power infrastructure, cleanroom environments, manufacturing areas, and laboratory spaces.
• Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to understand production requirements and ensure facility projects effectively support manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate project activities, timelines, resources, contractors, and other stakeholders to keep projects moving forward.
• Provide technical guidance related to facility systems, manufacturing equipment, materials, processes, and engineering requirements.
• Research industry developments, technical standards, equipment, and emerging technologies relevant to facilities and manufacturing.
• Use engineering and design tools to develop solutions, evaluate equipment, and support project execution.
• Maintain project documentation, technical data, specifications, and engineering records.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or another technical discipline preferred; equivalent technical education and experience will also be considered.
• Approximately 4 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, industrial, or other technical facility environment.
• Experience with either critical power systems OR cleanroom environments is required.
• Hands-on experience with facility, equipment, machinery, or manufacturing engineering projects.
• Experience designing, modifying, installing, or improving manufacturing equipment or facility systems.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work effectively with Manufacturing, Engineering, Facilities, Operations, contractors, and other cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Electrical or electronic manufacturing experience.
• Experience supporting cleanroom projects or environments.
• Experience with critical power infrastructure.
• Manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering experience.
• Experience working with facility modifications, equipment installations, or process improvements.
