This role is eligible for a 10% shift differential that would be applied to the pay range below. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt role.Position Overview:This is a highly visible position and strong customer‑service and interpersonal skills are essential. The Facilities Engineer has a strong focus on maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems. The role requires technical expertise in a specified trade and versatility in other areas (e.g., pipe fitting/plumbing, electrical). The Facilities Engineer will have some advanced training and is working toward appropriate licensure for their specified trade. Classified as essential personnel, the employee must work with minimal absences and be available during all site closures except in the event of a major disaster when access is prohibited by governmental emergency personnel. The individual must also be available for call‑in work and other duties as required.In This Role, You Will:Be proficient in the operation of all types of hand and power tools and equipment.Ensure all work orders are completed on time and closed with all appropriate documentation.Perform routine daily checks of equipment.Execute detailed maintenance work, including the installation, operation, and maintenance of HVAC systems, building management systems, chillers, boilers, emergency generators, and compressed air systems.Conduct preventive maintenance on base building and critical system equipment, assemble tools and supplies, perform work with minimal disruption, clean work area, complete preventive task sheets, return tools to the workshop, report equipment problems, and notify of upcoming shortages.Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.Detect faulty operations or defective equipment and report or repair as appropriate.Adjust functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary and may assemble or install mechanical and electromechanical equipment.Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems requiring isolation, disassembly, and replacement of bearings, power transfer apparatus, and structural components.Comply with all applicable local, state, and national codes.Oversee activities of contractors within the buildings and coordinate services with outside vendors.Supervise critical equipment such as fire/life safety alarms, suppression systems, and elevator preventive and corrective maintenance.What You Need to Apply:Prior safety training such as NFPA 70e and OSHA‑10.Minimum of a high school diploma; college or technical degree preferred.Satisfaction of apprenticeship requirements or higher.Knowledge of applicable local, state, and national codes.Ability to read and understand construction drawings and diagrams.Typically 2–5 years of related experience.Completed or in-progress licensure in a specific trade (e.g., journeyman) and/or relevant training.Advanced skills in the area of specialization.Ability to adapt procedures, processes, and techniques to accomplish job requirements.Tasks are varied and moderately complex.Capabilities to resolve most questions and refer only the most complex issues to higher levels.May assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of less experienced employees.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends.Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods.Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 100 lbs) 25–50% of the time.Ability to climb and work on ladders and scaffolds.Physical stamina and endurance.Fine motor dexterity and ability to operate a motor vehicle.Cooperative teamwork skills.Ability to repeatedly bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crawl, squat, etc., for extended periods of time (25–75% of the time).Ability to climb to heights (e.g., ladder) and maintain balance during work tasks.Ability to operate hand and power tools.Ability to report to work under adverse weather conditions.Ability to perform work in a loud/noisy environment.May be exposed to a variety of chemicals.Career Development:It's not just a job, it's a career—and we are here to support you at every step.
