Define Palmdale Site Facilities and Plant Engineering strategies and leases that support site/production readiness for the Palmdale population (over 4,000 employees) and ~50+ programs. Tactical day to day integration and operations of Facilities and Plant Engineering…entire engineering life cycle of facilities (over 3Msf...main campus and satellite sites). Manages the planning, design, and oversight of the reconfiguration, maintenance (union environment), and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Integrate F&PE into the site business strategy and new business initiatives through interactions with functional organizations and program leadership. Execute site Facilities financial strategy including capital, overhead, rearrangement, Air Force, and program direct tasks. Plan, manage and execute the site PP&E Capital program via participation in the Capital Council as Palmdale's voting member. Represent LM Aero to external community, stakeholders, customers, outside agencies (local, county or state officials). Ensure alignment of site operations strategy with Aero and Corporate strategy, provide counsel and direction to ADP executive leadership regarding Facilities initiatives, risk mitigation actions and internal programs. Manages local site risk and liability - property, zoning, pollution/waste, as well as unliquidated rent liability with the AF. Ensure prioritization of site resources to minimize infrastructure and equipment risks to the population and programs. Ensure facilities requirements are identified and addressed in new business opportunities. Define Facilities'' resource allocations for managing the Facilities functional organizations across a site profile that has a diverse risk profile regarding size, scope and complexity. Advocate Facilities priorities and direction with Operations and ADP executive leadership. Assesses needs for staffing, talent management, team development and mentoring. Government interaction for Aero relative to Government Owned Contractor Operated (GOCO) lease initiatives…AF Plant #42. 2026 Staffing = ~150 employees (7 direct) along with accountability for over ~$150M annual budget (capital, overhead, rent credit and direct).

Manages the planning, design, and oversight of the reconfiguration, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Oversees the gathering and review of data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility. Monitors the coordination with architecture/engineering firms in developing design criteria and preparing layout and detail drawings. Directs the preparation of bid sheets and contracts for construction and facilities acquisition. Oversees the review and estimation of design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs. Directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Basic Qualifications

Knowledge and understanding of the full facilities life cycle (planning, design, construction, commissioning, maintenance & operations)

Knowledge and understanding of Capital execution and implementation processes

Experience leading employees and managing subcontractor provided services

Desired Skills

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $180000.00 - $325000.00
