Guided by the compassion and healing ministry of Jesus Christ, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care, dignity, and support to our residents.We are seeking a dependable and skilled Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician to help maintain our beautiful campus and ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the residents, visitors, and staff who call our community home.Position SummaryThe Facilities & Grounds Maintenance Technician performs routine building maintenance, groundskeeping, inspections, and repairs to ensure the Residence remains safe, attractive, and fully operational. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of maintenance tasks and takes pride in caring for facilities and outdoor spaces. Essential ResponsibilitiesGrounds & Property CareMaintain landscaped areas through planting, watering, trimming, pruning, and general upkeep.Keep sidewalks, entrances, patios, parking areas, and walkways clean and free of debris.Perform seasonal grounds maintenance and weather-related property preparations.Assist in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and attractive campus environment.Building MaintenancePaint and perform minor repairs in resident rooms and common areas.Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance repairs.Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and grounds to identify maintenance needs.Perform preventive maintenance and document completed work.Equipment & OperationsOperate and maintain maintenance equipment, tools, and machinery safely.Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and notify supervisor of replenishment needs.Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are required.Respond promptly to maintenance requests and follow through on outstanding issues.Team SupportAssist residents, priests, and staff with moving furniture and other heavy items as needed.Communicate regularly with supervisor regarding repairs, safety concerns, and facility needs.Follow all safety policies, procedures, and equipment requirements.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum two (2) years of experience in maintenance, facilities operations, groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related field preferred. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment required. Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repair techniques required.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of facility maintenance and groundskeeping practices. Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Good communication and customer service skills. Ability to recognize when specialized or licensed contractors are needed. Valid Texas driver's license and acceptable driving record required. Knowledge of maintenance safety standards and best practices. Appreciation for and respect of the mission and values of a Catholic ministry environment preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate maintenance equipment, machinery, and tools. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment when required. Work HoursMonday through Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Occasional after-hours or on-call response may be required for maintenance emergencies or special projects.Must pass background check and pre-employment drug testing
